Murano Glass blowing has been an art form in Venice since the late 12th century and to watch the skill of the Master Glass blower is a truly awe-inspiring experience.  They swing and blow a molten pea of glass into objects of sheer beauty and complexity that simply defy belief.  The master glass blower has around 15 to 20 seconds to shape and manipulate each gather of semi-molten glass into the object they have envisioned from the beginning which is a truly magical experience.  The glass must be worked at temperatures between 900 and 1500 degrees celcius to adequately melt and ensure that the glass can be worked after it is taken from the furnace.
